By Yusuff Ademola Adesina EPISODE 4: Matters Related to Taraweeh and Reflection upon the Qur’an All praise be to Allaah, may His peace and blessing be upon the noble soul of Muhammad ibn Abdullah, the last prophet and messenger, may the peace and blessing of Allaah be upon the households of Muhammad, his companions and those upon the path of righteousness until the Day of Recompense. In the last episode (link) of this series, I completed the discussion on the sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) related to sahur and iftar, and I believe every one of us has started reviving the sunnah by practice. May Allah bless you. In this episode, I aim to discuss the matters related to Taraweeh (such as the time of its observation and the number of units) and reflecting upon the Qur’an.    Matters Related to Taraweeh   1.          Taraweeh is the night prayer observed during the nights of Ramadan. It is as well the same as Tahajjud or Qiyaam Layl. 2.          Ta

I pray that Allaah accept our acts of worship in this month, forgive us and grant us the goodness of this world and the Aakhirah. In the previous episode, I have discussed the obligation of fasting Ramadan and some rulings related to it. In this episode, I shall discuss the etiquette and sunnah of sahur and iftar. And I believe by now, you should be well acquainted of the virtues of Ramadan and be eager to witness its commencement. in shaa Allah. But, how much do you know about the obligation of fasting in the month and its rulings? In this episode, I shall discuss the obligation of fasting in the month of Ramadan, things that vitiate fasting, people exempted from the obligatory fasting and the rulings related to breaking or missing the fast. Obligation of Fasting in Ramadan Fasting (Siyaam in Arabic) literally means abstaining; in Islam it means abstaining from things that break the fast (such as foods, drinks, smoking) from dawn until sunset, hav

By Yusuff Ademola Adesina EPISODE 1: The Month of Ramadan and Its Virtues I recently learnt that people (especially adults) tend not to do ‘something’ when they do not know the purpose of doing it. However, they tend to do it if it had been accustomed to the culture, but not in the right way; rather in the way culture has presented it. But, is this what Ramadan all about? Obviously, the answer is NO; provided one is adequately aware of the month, its features and its virtues. Hence, it is important to learn about the month before its commencement so that you will have the maximal opportunity to develop yourself and become successful and product
